READING / WRITING / ESL TUTOR
Ms. Rachel holds both a B.A. in Education and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. In addition, she is currently a full-time language arts teacher. She has over 6 years of teaching experience in reading, and she also is an academic language therapist.
Dr. Li holds a PhD in Applied Math from the University of California at Berkeley. He has taught for over twenty years at the elementary, high school and college levels. He tutors algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and preparation for the math portions of the PSAT, SAT and ACT.
DANCE AND CHINESE INSTRUCTOR
Ms. Yang JingKun has extensive dance experience including in the Chinese province artistic gymnastics team in the 2008 Olympics. She has trained at the Beijing Dance Academy in Chinese folk dance, modern dance, jazz and other dance forms. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Communication University of China, as well as an international Chinese Teacher Certification.
Ms. Aida is a native speaker of Spanish and has a B.A. in Business Administration from the Universidad Autonoma de Cd., Juarez, Chih, Mexico. She has been a Bilingual Kindergarten Teaching Assistant at Crouch Elementary School since 2008. She also has experience teaching and coaching Spanish in academic and formal business settings.
A native Spanish speaker, Ms. Gloria has a degree in Marketing, Finance and International Trade. Her work experience is extensive including an international business professional, a university teacher for 15 years, a Spanish teacher in Florida and Texas for 5 years, and a substitute teacher at Carroll ISD for 3 years. She loves teaching, and her hobbies are reading and traveling. Her favorite sport is cycling.
A native Spanish speaker, Lina Bulnes is originally from Mexico City and now a proud American Citizen. She studied to be a Kindergarten Teacher carrier at Normal de Educadoras in Mexico, and she also has a degree as an Executive Bilingual Secretary (Business Administration). She has worked for the Grapevine Colleyville School District as an Interpreter for two years, and she also assists ESL Teachers. She currently works for the Carroll School District as an Aide.
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM MANAGER AND ARTS AND CRAFTS INSTRUCTOR
Ms. Lisa comes to STA from the Art House, where she was an office manager. She holds a degree in business, and she brings her business and marketing expertise, along with her love of arts and crafts. to STA. She also directs STA programs including seasonal camps.
READING / WRITING / MATH TUTOR
Ms. Angela, in addition to being STA’s amazing administrative assistant, also helps tutor elementary and middle school students in reading, writing, and math. She is about to finish her degree in psychology at the University of North Texas in Denton.
Ms. Cao began her Doctor of Musical Arts program at the University of North Texas in Piano Performance. As an active performer, she gives recitals every year and her honors include Margaret Marion Grubb Memorial piano Scholarship, Charles F. Paul Memorial Piano Scholarship, and Outstanding Graduates Student of Keyboard. As a piano teacher, she has worked with students of all different ages and levels for many years. Her students have gone on to achieve certificates, play recitals, and receive awards at competitions.
Ms. Snow has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas in Piano Performance. She has won numerous awards on and off campus, including Women in Music Columbus Competition, GRAVES/OMTA Piano Competition, the Karen Jeanne Foster Keyboard Competition, and the Perrini and Presser Awards. She has been teaching both group and private piano lessons since 2012, and she has also worked as an instructor for the Young Pianist Program.
CHESS INSTRUCTOR, FIDE MASTER
Mr. Jason has trained with some of the top international chess instructors, is experienced in scholastic training and competition as a National Junior Champion and as a chess coach. His classes focus on developing beginner’s skills, expanding class player’s knowledge and understanding, and refining technical preciseness.
